Experience behind the firm

Complex technology work, described without the logo wall.

The examples below were delivered by Thomas Marcelis in previous consulting and technology roles. They establish the experience behind Marcelis Digital; they are not presented as the track record of a fictional standing team.

01

National transport organisation

AI-enabled software delivery

Shaped the sourcing and target capability for Developer Experience and AI across the SDLC, including model access, enterprise context, AI-ready repositories, controls and measurable adoption.

02

European eMobility scale-up

Platform transformation recovery

Supported the CTO in resetting the target state, domain model, architecture and delivery roadmap for a materially delayed and over-budget platform transformation.

03

Large Dutch public-sector organisation

Enterprise architecture and operating model

Designed the architecture and operating model for a multi-year information-provision programme, then translated it into a 90-day execution plan.

04

Global semiconductor manufacturer

Self-service data and MLOps platform

Led the engineering team that moved a governed data and MLOps platform from proof of concept into production and enterprise use.

05

Benelux e-commerce platform

Software organisation redesign

Connected architecture, cross-team dependencies and domain boundaries in a large engineering transformation, then stayed to carry the redesign into execution.

06

Regional parcel carrier

Application-estate economics

Translated application, supplier and run-cost analysis into rationalisation, governance and vendor-model changes that released capacity for transformation.

Proof standard

Specific enough to test. Careful enough to trust.

Marcelis Digital uses client situations, roles, decisions and working mechanisms as proof. Names and commercially sensitive details stay out unless their use is explicitly approved.

That is less decorative than a logo wall. It is also more useful to a buyer trying to understand what the firm can actually do.

Principal

Thomas Marcelis

Technology strategist, enterprise architect and trained software developer. His background spans McKinsey's expert track, BCG Platinion, Accenture and Eraneos, with earlier hands-on work in cloud, integration and software engineering.

Thomas works across executive technology strategy, architecture, software organisations, Developer Experience, data and AI platforms, and transformation recovery. He remains technically close enough to inspect the consequences of the advice.
